ELL / MLL: Students & Programming

English Language Learners (ELL/MLL) and Dual Language students ready to learn.

Center Your EL & ML

Students

The latest research in the field of language acquisition tells us that the best learning environment for multilingual students is where they are learning language and content simultaneously along with their peers. And yet, multilingual students are often pulled out of their classrooms to be taught language in isolation. Why does this happen? Often, in an attempt to “serve” multilingual students, an effort to seemingly be more efficient and in “compliance” with state and federal funding rather than enacting true educational equity and substantive academic gains.

EIX guides districts on how to center their EL / ML students and provides trainings to be more responsive to their linguistic and cultural needs.
