Why Dual Language?
In the last ten years, dual language programs have skyrocketed. Why? The US population is changing. We are part of a global economy. And educators have become increasingly knowledgable about how best to educate students whose home language is not English. ENTER DUAL LANGUAGE. Seminal research by Thomas and Collier, as well as other scholars, repeatedly illustrated that Dual Language Programs have big impacts on all learners over time, to the point of out performing their peers. Dual language firmly centers multilingual learners in an assets-based framework. It's a win win for all involved!
