What is EIX Studio?
EIX Studio helps mission-driven companies, government entities, schools, and nonprofits investigate important questions that center around learning and change. We turn research, expertise, and ambitious ideas into learning experiences, content, tools, technology, and practices that people can use and organizations can sustain.
We leverage your expertise to create brand aligned learning experiences (both face-to-face and online and everything in between) that fit your profession learning goals. We also have our own internal subject matters experts to support culturally, linguistically, and neurally diverse audiences.
Sometimes the work begins with a rich body of research, content, or organizational knowledge. Other times, it begins with a question that needs to be explored or an idea that has not yet found its form. We help partners make sense of what they know, identify what they still need to understand, and turn insight into something useful.

From important ideas to meaningful learning
Organizations often have more to build from than they realize: research, lived experience, internal expertise, promising ideas, existing content, and lessons from practice.
The challenge is making sense of it all and determining what to create next.
EIX Studio helps organizations understand how people experience learning, identify what matters, and design more responsive ways forward. We then work alongside partners as ideas become content, experiences, tools, technology, and practices that improve over time.
How we work with you
-

Investigate
We ask important questions, study experience, gather evidence, and draw from existing research and knowledge. Our team of learning scientists facilitate the capturing and retrieval of data to lay the groundwork for deep analysis.
-

Interpret
We identify patterns, surface implications, and clarify what the evidence means for strategy, design, and practice. We do this with your team and our subject matter experts to get a well round and systems view of the data in context.
-

Design
We shape the strategy, learning experience, framework, product, technology, or response. And we make sure we aim to your goals while cognizant of your organization’s structure and ethos to understand and address points of friction.
-

Build
We create courses, institutes, conferences, curricula, content, tools, prototypes, and digital experiences. Our subject matter, product, and program experts stay embedded throughout the process, so that everything we design aligns with your organization's goals, values, and ethos.
-

Implement
We work alongside organizations as new ideas move into organizations, classrooms, teams, programs, platforms, and communities. Subject matter and systems experts will move your team into deeper, applied learning to assure that learning sticks.
-

Refine
We learn from use, feedback, and evidence, then improve what has been created. This can happen right way or overtime depending on the project and learning. It is best way to build quality, sustainable programming and products.
What we do
We help new ideas take hold in real settings.
Our work may include coaching, Learning Labs, workshops, leadership development, communities of practice, field testing, facilitation, internal capability-building, and continuous improvement.
Many engagements move across several or all of these areas.
We help organizations determine how technology can support learning, select and shape the right solutions, and prepare teams to use and sustain them.
Our work may include technology strategy, product requirements, learning-platform selection, LMS evaluation and configuration, workflow design, prototyping, content and technology development practices, implementation planning, and launch support.
We translate research and expertise into learning people can understand and use.
Our work may include curriculum, courses, professional learning systems, facilitator materials, digital and blended learning, video, instructional content, frameworks, tools, and early product concepts while also walking you through product and program development through public release.
Featured Signature Project
Languaging for Multilingual Learning
EIX Studio works with schools and nonprofit organizations to strengthen teaching, leadership, and learning systems for multilingual students. It is one of our content area specialities.
Our work includes instructional design, early language and literacy, academic discourse, coaching, shadowing, Learning Labs, and sustained professional learning grounded in classroom practice.
We have also crafted an ML Approach to Early Reading, which is a research-based, method that teaches English at the same time as reading skills. This approach extends traditional science of reading methods. AI is coming soon to support classroom instruction and build deeper relationships.
Client Projects
Peopling for Neurodivergence
EIX Studio works with Peopling for Neurodivergence to build a connected ecosystem of support for neurodivergent learners, educators, leaders, and families. The work combines instructional leadership development with a systematic approach to adult and professional learning that strengthens and extends the systems schools already have in place. Together, we lead them through design, early AI design, and the development of online and blended courses, face-to-face and synchronous learning, reflection tools, facilitator resources, school and family learning experiences, and implementation plans that help organizations move from awareness to sustained, coordinated practice.
Prezi
EIX helped Prezi understand how educators were adapting to remote learning during COVID and translate those insights into content, professional learning, and community. The work included the value and use of Prezi Video, instructional examples from real teachers using the products in contexts, video tutorials, educator community outreach, educator certification pathways, and development of the Prezi Educator Network to support teachers in using the platform more effectively in practice.
The Steve Fund
EIX Studio is working with The Steve Fund to design and develop online learning experiences for young people ages 16–24, with a particular focus on mental health and well-being among youth from underserved communities. The content is created for university audiences, where it can be facilitated and released at scale, and addresses topics such as digital peace, imposter phenomenon, relationships, and other challenges that shape how young people navigate school, identity, and everyday life.
Tukwila School District
For the past six years, EIX Studio has partnered with Tukwila School District to strengthen and reshape its multilingual learner programming across classrooms, schools, and leadership. The work has included ML program strategy, dual language planning and implementation, leadership coaching, institutes, Learning Labs, and sustained professional learning. EIX has also helped the district build its own capacity to study practice through shadowing, walkthroughs, classroom-based data gathering, and collaborative reflection, so that decisions about instruction and programming are grounded in what students and teachers are actually experiencing.
SEAL Sabrato
EIX Studio partnered with SEAL (Sobrato Early Academic Language) to help the organization move into online learning and scale its work throughout the State of California without losing the quality and coherence of its approach. EIX facilitated the early design process, helped the team establish shared design principles for both the site and the learning experience, vetted LMS options, and then designed and built the selected platform around SEAL’s content structure and learning goals and new search capabilities. The work also included onboarding the team into instructional design practices and online development tools, supporting compliance requirements, producing and editing new video content, and then building internal capacity so the team could eventually manage much of the work independently.
Selected Work
Museum of Flight — helped establish the strategy and design principles for moving learning programs online to increase reach and scale.
Nooksack School District — designed and facilitated professional learning focused on linguistic and cultural responsiveness, using face-to-face learning and video analysis of student-teacher interactions.
Renton School District — helped identify instructional gaps through collaborative data gathering, then translated those findings into program strategy and professional learning.
Manson Public Schools — designed and facilitated institutes focused on research-backed multilingual learner instructional practices.
Bellingham Public Schools — supported the district through dual language program development and state certification requirements.
Gates Ventures — researched the curricular landscape in targeted areas and developed recommendations for future direction.
Swedish Hospital — examined medical simulation and communication practices and developed ways to deepen learning through communication analysis and video-enhanced reflection.
Neural Education — provided interim executive leadership spanning operations, organizational repositioning, and grant development.
Who we work with
We partner with organizations that have a learning need, whether it lives inside the organization or reaches beyond it. That might mean researching and designing a new program or product, building a technology solution, creating an onboarding strategy, facilitating an institute, producing a professional learning video series, or developing something entirely new.
Our work is grounded in the learning sciences and strengthened by deep experience in areas such as multilingual learning and neurodivergence. We have worked with school districts, nonprofits, foundations, universities, education organizations, and mission-driven companies seeking to build stronger, more lasting relationships with the people and communities they serve.
Some partners come with a well-developed body of research, content, expertise, or technology. Others come with an early idea, an important question, or a complicated challenge they have not yet been able to name clearly.
We meet the work where it is and help determine what comes next.
